Atrial fibrillation (AF) poses a significant burden to patients, physicians, and healthcare systems globally. The concept of "AF Burden" emerged as an innovative approach to make sense of the amount of data generated by the "digital revolution" in AF diagnosis. The goal of this program is to better understand the current and future definitions of AF burden, how to measure it, and how to use this concept in clinical practice in association with other risk stratification tools.
The following questions are designed to assess your knowledge and practice of patients with atrial fibrillation.
In this module, we will review the rationale for measuring AF burden as well as the various technologies to measure it, including ambulatory ECG, wearables, and digital health solutions.
In this module, we will review current approaches to the concept of AF burden as well as their limitations. A new unified definition of AF burden will be discussed.
In this module, we will review the latest information on the relationship between AF, AF burden and stroke. The implications of these findings on clinical practice, including screening and anticoagulation, will be explored.
The following questions are designed to assess your gained knowledge regarding patients with atrial fibrillation.
The group will review the current and emerging definition of AF burden and the different options for AF burden monitoring (implantables, external monitors, mobile health).
This session offers clinical cardiologists, electrophysiologists, and interventional cardiologists a unique platform to collectively explore and address the challenges of managing AF burden through sharing intriguing patient cases.
In light of the information reviewed and discussed during this program, please share an action plan that you will implement to improve the outcomes for your patients with AF Burden.
The group will discuss how to apply the concept of the AF Burden in relation to treatment initiation and personalization of care. The focus will be on how AF burden can help assess the risk of stroke associated with AF and strategies to identify patients with AF who might benefit from treatment.
